Bluesfest Unveils First Line-Up For 30th Anniversary Event
Following on from an outstanding 2018 event which saw the likes of Lionel Richie, Robert Plant, Tash Sultana and more, you could be forgiven for thinking Bluesfest 2019 wouldn't be able to live up to previous years.
Oh boy, you were wrong. Very wrong.
Make sure you're sitting down, because you may or may not be speechless after learning who's on this lineup.
Leading the charge for the 2019 event is Jack Johnson, and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, who will both be performing exclusively at Bluesfest. The event will also mark the final Australian shows of George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, who are retiring.
Bluesfest favourite Kasey Chambers will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her ground-breaking album The Captain with a first-time performance of her debut album, track by track.
Others returning to the festival are Tommy Emmanuel, Colin Hay, Richard Clapton, Russell Morris, The Black Sorrows and Tex Perkins, plus internationals Vintage Trouble, Nahko & Medicine for the People, Arlo Guthrie, Snarky Puppy, Keb’ Mo’, Elephant Sessions, The California Honeydrops and Trevor Hall.
First-timers include Ray LaMontagne, folk supergroup I’m With Her, Larkin Poe, Kurt Vile and Greensky Bluegrass.
So, are you in? While you were reading this, we booked our flights to Byron Bay.
Sorry, not sorry.
