David Henrie Arrested For Carrying Loaded Gun At LAX Airport

David Henrie, known for his role in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for allegedly carrying a loaded handgun through security gates.

According to TMZ, the 29-year-old was going through the security screening process at LAX when TSA officers found the weapon and detained him.

Following the incident, the actor apologised in a statement posted to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, stating that he "unintentionally" brought his gun to the airport, reiterating that he legally owns the weapon, which is registered to his name.

"I am sorry for any trouble it caused, but I am appreciative of TSA's efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country," he wrote.

"More than anything I am humiliated and embarrassed that this even happened. But I am thankful to the TSA, LAPD, and all involved today for their kindness and professionalism during this process."

The arrest comes just days after he announced in an Instagram video that he and his wife Maria Cahill Henrie are expecting their first child.

In the original caption, he wrote: "ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL. I'm a Poppa!!!!!!! I'm so overwhelmed with joy I had to share this with you guys. I'm already singing 'I Loved Her First.' That reminds me. Where's my shotgun?" he joked.

"I don't have a shotgun. Someone get me a shotgun! I can't wait to sit her down on a couch and tell her a 9 season story of 'How I Met Your Mother.'"

The caption has since been revised.

Henrie starred alongside Selena Gomez on the Disney Channel show, Wizards of Waverly Place. He also portrayed Ted Mosby's future son on How I Met Your Mother from 2005-2014.
