Christina Aguilera Bares All In New Video ‘Where’s Maria?’

Incase you’ve been living under a rock, or living a sheltered like like a ‘Genie in A Bottle’ I guess, then you’d know that Christina Aguilera is hopping back onto the music scene with a new album on the way!

And it seems that we can expect to see a very honest and stripped back version of X-Tina after she released a teaser video for one of her upcoming tracks ‘Where’s Maria?’.

In the nearly five minute long video, that has been shot in a style similar to that of a home movie with a montage of shots of the singer, Christina speaks openly about body image, insecurities and the way that the world of fame has affected her.

The video opens with Christina speaking softly to the camera saying, “I don’t know why we hurt ourselves to please someone else perception of self. I’m sorry to my own reflection. I’m sorry for putting you down.”

Throughout the video, Christina goes on to explain why she stepped away from the music scene for a long six years and why she feels she’s ready to head back into that world now.

“To me, the purest of reason is to get back to that little girl who just wants to be inspired again by truth and by that sense of passion for music and singing and just feeling free and alive again,” explains Aguilera.

“I’ve stepped so far away from that little girl, and if that means going away for a little while and figuring out who you are again and what you need to say, then that’s what you need to do.”

The eerie video also delves into Christina’s family life throughout her childhood and how this may have impacted her career and her love life.

The video, directed by Zoey Grossman, finishes at a point of self realisation and acceptance as Christina says “F**k it. This is who I am. Whoever’s not onboard can suck my d**k.”

Christina’s first album since 2012, Liberation, is due to be realised on June 15 with the lead single Accelerate already out now.

Watch Christina Aguilera like you’ve never seen her before in the ‘Where’s Maria?’ video above.
