Demi Lovato Makes Emotional Post About 5 Years Of Sobriety
There's a reason why we all love Demi Lovato so damn much, and that's because she keeps it real and is nothing but honest with her fans.
This week Demi celebrated a huge personal accomplishment - reaching her five-mark year of sobriety.
So grateful. It's been quite the journey. So many ups and downs. So many times I wanted to relapse but sat on my hands and begged God to relieve the obsession. I'm so proud of myself but I couldn't have done it without my higher power (God), my family, friends, and everyone else who supported me. Feeling humbled and joyful today. Thank you guys for sticking by my side and believing in me. 🙏🏼
In 2010, the singer, 24, checked into rehab for a three-month stint after she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Since then, Demi has become an advocate for mental health awareness, and continues to inspire others, particularly with her music. Later this month Demi will be honoured for her work at The Jane and Terry Semel Institute's biannual Open Minds Gala on March 22 at the Beverly Hilton.
She truly is amazing.
