Demi Lovato Reportedly ‘Getting Better’ After Overdose

Demi Lovato is reported to be “getting better” almost a week after she overdosed and is receiving significant support from her family and friends, including ex Wilmer Valderrama, who has visited her in hospital a number of times.

The 25-year-old singer was found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday. Emergency services were called to the star’s home where they administered Narcan, a drug used to reverse the effects of opioid overdoses, and rushed her to a hospital in LA.

A representative for Demi later confirmed that she was awake and stable while surrounded by family.

Now, almost a week since the shocking incident occurred, E! News are reporting that Lovato is continuing to rest in hospital and is getting better. Her entire family has banded together to support the singer including Valderrama.

Demi and the 38-year-old actor, known for his work on NCIS and That 70s Show, dated for almost six years before parting ways in 2016. Valderrama was first spotted visiting Demi on Wednesday, a day after her overdose, and again on Thursday.

Lovato has battled substance abuse in the past and has spent some time in rehab before. Just a month ago she also released a song called ‘sober’ where she sings about relapsing.

Sources have claimed that Lovato and her friends have been partying fairly hard for the past several months and on the night that she overdosed the group had allegedly been partying for around 12 hours straight.

“She slipped up and thought she could handle it. This is obviously a huge wake-up call. Demi doesn’t want to die and she’s very grateful to be alive,” said one source. “She will be leaving hospital and heading straight to rehab. Her family has been by her side supporting her and is getting her the help she needs.”

Meantime, both fans and other celebs have been rallying behind Lovato amid her recovery through messages of support on social media and a group of fans even gathered at the location of her cancelled concert in Atlantic City last Thursday to show their love for the singer.
