Elton John Hospitalised With 'Potentially Deadly' Infection

Elton John has been forced to cancel all his concerts for the remainder of April and May due to a potentially deadly bacterial infection.

Fairfax reports that he became "violently ill" on a flight home from his recent South American tour, and subsequently spent two nights in intensive care in the UK.

The infection was not identified in a statement released, however the Rocket Man singer is expected to make a full recovery.

He is due to resume performances at a concert in Twickenham, England, on June 3.

Elton John's Australian shows later this year will not be affected according to Chugg Entertainment.
