Elton John's Oscars Bash Raised $6.2 Million
Sir Elton John's Oscars after party raised $6.2 million for the rocker's AIDS foundation.
The host performed at his 24th annual Academy Awards party on Sunday night for the first time in a decade and entertained celebrity guests like Charlie Sheen, Dave Grohl, Kelly Rowland, Mariah Carey, Caitlyn Jenner, Boy George, and Andie MacDowell among others.
At Elton's Oscar viewing party, guests dined on a five-course dinner prepared by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, while a live auction included a five-day stay at rocker Steven Tyler's Maui vacation home in Hawaii.
But the highlight of the bash was Elton's performance, during which he played songs from his new album, Wonderful Crazy Night. He also handed out copies of the record to guests as a freebie party favour, joking, "If you don’t want to play it, you can use them as frisbees or coasters."
