Glee Star Attempts Suicide Amid Child Porn Scandal

It is being reported that Mark Salling, the disgraced Glee actor charged with possessing child pornography, "attempted suicide" just weeks before trying to reduce his prison sentence.

The incident occurred on August 22 in the 35-year-old's bedroom at his Los Angeles home.

TMZ are reporting that Salling attempted to take his own life but "freaked out" and shouted to his roommate who found him bleeding.

The roommate called 911 and Salling was taken to hospital. Days later he was admitted for psychiatric assessment and placed in a rehab facility for psychological issues.

"Mark is physically fine and Mark is spending his time atoning and working on himself," the actor's lawyer said in a statement.

Salling, who played Noah "Puck" Puckerman in the earlier seasons of Glee, is currently facing four to seven years in jail after pleading guilty to two counts of child pornography.

The actor was caught with 50,000 "sexually charged" pictures of children on his computer and has been order to pay out $50,000 to the victims in the images in the US District Court in Los Angeles.
