Kylie Minogue Opens Up About Missing Out On Motherhood
In an emotional interview in the UK's Sunday Times Magazine, Kylie Minogue has opened up about having to consider her ‘other options’ when it comes to having children one day.
Kylie, who was diagnosed in 2005 with breast cancer, aged 37 - revealed that she has had to consider other paths to motherhood, having taken it for granted.
“When cancer strikes, you have to consider all of that. Trust me, there’s a point when the next person who says, ‘Well, there are many options,’ you want to scream. Of course, it’s great there are options. It’s marvellous there are options!
“But when you’re dealing with all the other stuff and things that you took for granted are taken away from you, it’s like, yes, there are options. But I have three nephews who I am crazy about, so I’m good at being an aunty.”
Kylie told the magazine that she has had thoughts about what her children would look like, but it's a reality she's not sure she will ever get to see.
Minogue also spoke about her relationship with boyfriend of 14 months, actor Joshua Sasse, 29. Saying he's an 'old soul' with an 'old fashioned' demeanour.
Speaking to the magazine about whether having children is something her and Josh are serious about, she said: “Well, as time goes by that becomes a different kettle of fish.”
The celeb couple have vowed not to get married until same-sex marriage is legalised in Australia.
