Midnight Oil Reform For New World Tour

Legendary Australian band Midnight Oil have just announced during a livestream on the official Facebook page they will be undertaking their first world tour in fifteen years.

The band hosted a live press conference on a boat in the middle of Sydney Harbour to announced that 'The Great Circle' tour will start with a Sydney pub gig at avenue yet to be revealed, before touring Canada, the US and Europe before returning for a tour around Australia throughout October and November this year.

The band will play over 50 gigs as part of this reformation tour.

The group has been on hiatus since December 2002 after Peter Garrett announced he was leaving the group to peruse a political career.

The band have only played together a handful times since then, firstly at the Wave Aid concert at the SCG to fundraiser for those affected by the Indian Ocean tsunami, and again in 2009 for the Sound Relief concert at the MCG to raise funds for victims of the Victorian bush fires.
