Miley Reveals She 'Reinvented' Herself Ahead Of New Song
This morning, Sydney's Kyle and Jackie O on KIIS1065 caught up with Miley Cyrus, after news that she has brand new music on the way.
Malibu, just released, is the first single Miley has released in three years, and she hinted that she's reinvented herself for this new chapter.
“The way I think, the way I dress, the way I sound. People make ‘you’ve changed’ a derogatory statement, I take it as an amazing compliment.”
“Just four years ago I was sliding down my own tongue, and now you know I’m frolicking on the sand and in the fields.”
Miley also revealed she actually wrote the new song, Malibu, over a year ago; “Today is a great day, I’ve got happy anxious butterflies because everyone’s so close to hearing it!”
Kyle then asked if the song was about her partner Liam Hemsworth, as it had been reported.
“It’s kind of… I mean, I definitely would be lying if I didn’t say that was the influence of the song.
“The single says, I never stopped by the shore, under the sun with my feet in the sand, but you brought me here and I’m happy you did, because now I’m as free as birds in the wind, because I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you, but what I found here is through me and what I needed.”
Miley's new album is due out in October. Watch the official video clip for 'Malibu' at top.
