Notorious B.I.G Features In New Faith Evans Track 'Legacy'
Faith Evans, 'You Used To Love Me' (1995), 'I'll Be Missing You' (1997), 'Never Gonna Let You Go' (1999), lived and breathed the '90s RnB and Hip-Hop scenes, and was married to Notorious B.I.G until he was murdered in 1997.
Evans introduction to Biggie was ultimately through Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs. Having signed her up to his label Bad Boy records, Evans was able to hang out with The Notorious B.I.G. at a Bad Boy photo shoot and according to those in the know, they wed after a nine-day courtship. Biggie, however, remained a playa, and had affairs including his infamous fling with Lil' Kim.
Fast-forward 20 years since Biggies passing, Evans is releasing a commemorative album 'The King & I' featuring new songs using vocals from Biggie’s classic, rare and vault recordings. Watch the clip for the single 'Legacy', below:
Evans idea to create 'The King & I' was reportedly conceived years ago, with inspiration being drawn from Natalie Cole's virtual duet with her late father, Nat King Cole, 'Unforgettable'.
Surprisingly, after many years of understandable drama, Lil' Kim appears on the track 'Lovin You For Life'. MusicFeeds reports that Evans vibed with Kim on 2016's Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, "I told her about the project and told her I would love for her to be a part of it and she said 'yes'."
