Simple Plan Release New Album "Taking One For The Team"

Simple Plan are back, having just released their fifth studio album, "Taking One For The Team", the bands first since 2011.

Work started on the album in 2014, with much of the year spent writing the songs that would make the cut, and by March 2015 they were ready to head to the recording studio. The band released singles throughout 2015 in the lead up to the album release, the first single "Saturday" being released as early as June, although this would not later feature on the album. In August, they released "Boom!" and an accompanying music video, and in September they released a third single called "I Don't Wanna Be Sad."

The first official single for the album was "I Don't Wanna Go To Bed," featuring Nelly (watch below). Finally, on November 30th, Simple Plan made their big announcement: Their fifth studio album, Taking One For The Team, was scheduled for release in February, 2016.

Don't be fooled by the pop sound of "I Don't Wanna Go To Bed" though, the band made sure to produce a very diverse sound across the new album, with tracks like "Opinion Overload" getting back to their pop-punk roots.
