Jack Johnson Is Touring Australia In December

Jack Johnson has decided he's better with his Australian fans and has announced his Aussie tour.

The singer-songwriter's December 1 gig - the first on his national tour which will be held at the Sydney Opera House - has already sold out, prompting the former pro-surfer to schedule another one for the following night.

Johnson has a long held affinity with Australia where he's achieved four number one albums, including 2005's 'In Between Dreams' which put him on the map.

"The music has always made sense in Australia for me, it was definitely the first place that took off in the way it did," Johnson told AAP.

"Some places we go, the music just seems like it matches that culture better and I think it has a lot to do with the surfing culture. It quickly took off for us there and I think it was the first place we ever had a number one."

Johnson will be performing music from his new album All The Light Above It Too around the country with a second show now added at the Opera House.

Jack Johnson tour dates:

December 1 - Sydney Opera House Forecourt, Sydney - SOLD OUT

December 2 - Sydney Opera House Forecourt, Sydney

December 3 - The Riverstage, Brisbane

December 6 - Kings Park, Perth

December 8 - Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne

*Tickets go on sale on September 11
