Driver Blames Motley Crue’s Kickstart My Heart For Speeding
A bloke clocked doing 145km/hr on a freeway in Canada has blamed a classic Mötley Crüe track for him flooring it.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba posted a photo of the radar reading to Facebook, which revealed “Kickstart My Heart” as the excuse given.
"This driver’s excuse for going 145kmh? 'Kickstart My Heart' by Motley Crue was on the radio," the caption read.
"Funny enough, our officer knew he was telling the truth, since he was also listening to it -- just at a much slower and safer speed. Fined $639. #noexcuses #AlwaysGotTheCopsComingAfterMe"
Thing is, Canadian bucks are almost at parity with the Aussie, and after a quick conversion, the amount turns out to be an eye-watering $AU670.
In the words of one commenter: “Was the fine for speeding or for liking Motley Crue?”
Kickstart My Heart was originally released in 1989 on Mötley Crüe’s album, Dr. Feelgood.
