Paul McCartney Thought A Bottle Of Whisky cost HOW MUCH?
Paul McCartney would love to be a ‘normal person’ but biographer Barry Miles says that's impossible – illustrating the point with a story about a bottle of whisky.
In a recent interview, Miles said that, despite having a life that was far from ordinary, Sir Paul was always so desperate to stay as ordinary as possible.
“He was very anxious to stay in touch with what he regarded as ordinary people.”
Miles said that a couple of years ago, he recalled a story about a bottle of whiskey.
“I was at his studio, [and] he asked one of the roadies to go out and buy him a bottle of whiskey, because he had people coming over,” he said.
He gave the roadie £2, which works out to be just over $3.50 in Aussie dollars.
Miles said the roadie just deadpanned, “Well, it’s gone up since then Paul.”
In the interview, Miles defended McCartney.
“In the end, you can’t be normal,” he said.
