Plain White T's Hit 'Hey There Delilah' Is Becoming TV Show!

Admit it- we all fell in love with the Plain White T's No. 1 hit "Hey There Delilah" back in 2006. You're probably shaking your head, rebutting these accusations, but c'mon, you loved that song... you even bought it on iTunes, remember? We get it.

Now that we've addressed that, let's get to the real news.

This iconic song is being adapted into a scripted TV series. Yes, you read it right. "Hey There Delilah" is being made into a show, and we cannot contain our excitement.

The Grammy and Tony-nominated band is teaming with Lively McCabe Entertainment and Primary Wave to develop a scripted romantic 'dramedy' based on its chart-topping single about a long-distance relationship.

Producers, including the band's frontman and songwriter Tom Higgenson as well as writer Jeremy Desmon, will be pitching the potential series — described as a contemporary fairy tale that expands the story within the song — to multiple networks and studios this month.

Released in 2006, the song tells the tale of a long-distance relationship between a struggling musician and a student in New York City.

"It’s been more than a decade since 'Hey There Delilah' was released, and people always ask me about it. A whole lot of people really connected with that song, and I’m very proud of that," Higgenson said. "I’m so excited to have an opportunity to give a new generation the chance to form their own connection with the song, and fall in love with its story through this new project.”

Anybody else taken back to their Myspace days? Not going to lie, we had it as our profile song for an embarrassingly long time.
