Elon Musk has lifted the ban on Ye’s Twitter account after a two-week hiatus, following West’s anti-semitic comments. Posting from an iPhone on Sunday, the artist formerly known as Kanye West first tested that he was still unblocked. The post drew mixed reactions from his followers as some celebrated his return while others wrote, “Oh no” and questioned Musk’s decision in light of what it could be promoting.

Elon enthusiastically replied to the tweet before Ye followed up with ‘Shalom :)’

Several companies have publicly cut ties with the rapper in an effort to distance themselves from his harmful rhetoric, most notably Adidas, ending his lucrative Yeezy sneaker deal. Despite a projected Q4 loss of $246 million, Adidas dropped Ye days after he was on the Drink Champs podcast declaring “I can say antisemitic s***, and Adidas can’t drop me”.

West’s return comes a day after Twitter renewed the account of former US President Donald Trump and a few other controversial figures under Musk’s recent ownership of the platform.
