Lady Gaga took to instagram to reveal the first look of her in character as Harley Quinn, starring opposite Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix.
‘Joker: Folie á Deux’ was announced in May 2022, centring around psychiatrist Dr Harleen Quinzel. The film has been described as a romantic musical and follows up from the 2019 Joker film that made 1 billion dollars, becoming one of the top grossing DC films of all time.
Filming is currently underway in New York and LA as it approaches its October 2024 release date.
DC has deemed the sequel an ‘Elseworlds’ production, meaning it will not alter the DC Universe and director Todd Phillips has free reign. Phillips & Gaga have previously worked together on the now critically acclaimed film A Star Is Born.
